Understanding Your ParcelGo Tracking Status: BOM Pickup, Dispatched Mumbai Air & More

If you've tracked a shipment with us and seen a status like "BOM Pickup" or "Dispatched Mumbai Air" and wondered exactly what stage that means, this is the plain-English guide. Our tracking uses airport codes and short-form logistics language to keep updates precise — here's what each piece actually tells you.

Airport Codes You'll See

Tracking updates reference the three-letter IATA code of the airport your shipment is passing through, rather than the full city name. The most common ones in our network:

  • BOM — Mumbai
  • DEL — Delhi
  • MAA — Chennai
  • BLR — Bangalore
  • CCU — Kolkata
  • PNQ — Pune
  • AMD — Ahmedabad
  • HYD — Hyderabad
  • COK — Kochi

What the Status Phrases Mean

"[Code] Pickup" (e.g., BOM Pickup) — Your shipment has been picked up from the sender and received at that city's handling point, ahead of airport processing.

"Dispatched [City] Air" (e.g., Dispatched Mumbai Air) — The shipment has cleared cargo processing at that airport and has been dispatched for its flight. This is the stage right before it's airborne.

"[Code]/[Code] – [Route]" (e.g., PNQ/CHK, MAA/PC1) — This shorthand indicates a transfer or sorting movement between two points — typically an airport code and a local hub or sorting center code — as the shipment moves from the airport toward final delivery, or from a local hub toward the airport.

"[City] Sorting" (e.g., Kolkata Airport Sorting, Chennai Airport Sorting) — The shipment has arrived at that city's sorting facility and is being routed either to its next flight (if it's a transit hub for your route) or out for local delivery.

"Hub" references (e.g., PNQ Hub) — Some routes move through a regional hub before reaching final delivery, especially for tier-2 city destinations. A hub reference means your shipment is at a consolidation/routing point, not a delay.

What to Do If a Status Hasn't Updated

Tracking updates are logged at each physical handling checkpoint, so there can be a gap of a few hours between checkpoints, especially overnight or during a flight itself — that's expected. If a status hasn't moved for longer than the estimated transit window for your service tier, reach out directly with your airway bill number rather than waiting: corporate@parcelgoglobal.com or +91 89763-23555, and our team will check the shipment's exact location.

We're expanding this glossary as we see new questions come in — if you've seen a status code here that isn't explained, let us know and we'll add it.
